Information You Submit

You may submit certain personal information in connection with your use of our website, calendar subscriptions, and participation in activities. You may submit personal information when you request information, customer service or other assistance, newsletters or communications from us, or otherwise communicate with us.

If you submit personal information on behalf of someone else, you must ensure and you have their authorization and consent to provide Area 57 with their personal information.

Outside of information you voluntarily submit, we do not gather any personal information. AA is for free and for fun, and for those who want it. Our program is open to all who want it, but will not be forced on anyone by Area 57.

A Note About Anonymity

We strive to protect the anonymity of all A.A. members. If we have fallen short, please email [email protected] with the details.

“Since anonymity is the ‘spiritual foundation of all our Traditions,’ we practice anonymity on A.A. websites at all times. An A.A. website is a public medium, which has the potential for reaching the broadest possible audience and, therefore, requires the same safeguards that we use at the level of press, radio and film.

Some areas [of this website] have included password-protected sections of the website, which can limit access to members only, and where full names may be used.”

– The A.A. Service Manual, pg 23

Local Intergroup/Central Offices

Service committees and intergroup/central offices perform different functions. Intergroup/central offices provide local services (ex: The Meeting Guide), while general service committees maintain the link between A.A. groups and the General Service Board by means of the Conference.

These two autonomous but vital service structures coexist and work together in mutual cooperation.

We are not affiliated with one another and have different advisory bodies and guidelines.
